Overwatch: McCree

by Aaron "BLU3" on

McCree had already made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest, when he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division. He chose the latter.

Blizzard PAX East Stream Coverage

by Crow on

“At its core, Overwatch is a game about heroes. ” — Jeff Kaplan In other shooters, where a gun is the most important thing you’re carrying, Overwatch focuses more on the abilities you bring to the game. NEW MAP: Watchpoint Gibraltar Style Map: Payload (which is a more “pure” payload map than the mixed control-points/payload maps we saw at BlizzCon.) Brings something new to Overwatch, introducing the hsitory of the OVerwatch organization. The organization was an international peacekeeping group that was disbanded, and Winston is trying to put the band back together. He’s doing this by launching a satellite to create a communications array. The satellite is the payload you’re escorting through the map, and getting it to the launchpad is the overall objective. Attacker spawn is in Winston’s Lab, with a ton of information that gives context and background for the universe and Winston in particular. There’s a chokepoint at the bottom

JR is on the floor at PAX East and he’s been able to get the latest information about Overwatch first hand, along with some nice pictures. There are two new playable heroes in the Overwatch demos at Pax East. Zarya is a buff Russian Female with Pink Hair with a Particle Cannon for a main weapon and a Protective Barrier. Her Ultimate ability seems to be a gravitation ball similar to what Gazlowe has in Heroes of the Storm. We also have McCree the Cowboy, his abilities are a Combat Roll, a Flash Bang, and his ultimate is Deadeye which targets everyone in his vision with a red “x”. We’ll keep you updated as we get new and more detailed information on these two Heroes, stay tuned! UPDATES: (1) First Impressions of McCree McCree is a pistol-toting sheriff with many airs of Clint Eastwood’s character in The Good, the Bad,

by JR Cook on

Find out in our March issue! pic.twitter.com/VGrAK8QjVu — Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) February 26, 2015 This cover gives us some hints on what this hero will be. He’s likely to have an origin from Russia and is a melee/brawler style of character. The QR code when scanned reads “Together we are strong”. With the magazine being a March edition it once again leads us to believe this will be a PAX East reveal. We also have a possible picture of what the hero looks like from this art work that was shown during BlizzCon There is a press event today at the Blizzard Headquarters with some livestreamers attending. However, it sounds like they are

Overwatch at PAX East

by JR Cook on

Blizzard will be at PAX East again this year and some big announcements should be coming from the studio as they have in the past years at the convention. If you remember, back in 2013 Blizzard announced Hearthstone at PAX East and last year they revealed Curse of Naxxramas for Hearthstone along with some new information for Heroes of the Storm. Both of those games will be back at PAX East this year along with a new one – Overwatch. The Blizzard panel is taking place at 10:30 AM Friday in the Albatross theater. Jeff Kaplan will be there along with Dustin Browder (Heroes) and Eric Dodds (Hearthstone) to reveal new information about these games. This will be the first major news we have seen from Overwatch since the game was announced at BlizzCon so we expect a lot of good information coming out. It also looks like the game
