The Payload Episode 27: New Hero Kits in Overwatch

by - 8 years ago

You know what they say: The world could always use more heroes! On The Payload, your hosts Jimmy, John, and Kevin will look at all things Overwatch: News, Esports, gameplay, and more. Join the boys every Thursday for the live stream, or download our audio episodes Fridays!

In Episode 27, there’s news galore!

  • Overwatch surpasses 10 million players worldwide and dethrones League of Legends in South Korea (kind of)!
  • The one-button authenticator is introduced to make sure your account stays safe and secure!
  • Jeff Kaplan writes a huge post about what the development team is currently working on for the game.
  • It’s high noon for a McCree nerf and ‘Cest la vie’ for Widowmaker as well.

Outside of the news, ESL has announced they’ll be hosting Overwatch’s largest ever tournament for $100,000USD. As the pro scene continues to ramp up, Splyce Gaming signs their own Overwatch team as well as Selfless Gaming. If that’s not enough, The Payload crew talks about world-renowned football club Manchester United entering into a bidding war with Fnatic over an undisclosed Overwatch team.

In our strategy segment this week, we ask the question, “What more could we see from new heroes in Overwatch?” Do you have any ideas for new heroes? Let us know! Send us an email to thepayload@blizzpro.com or tweet us @PayloadPodcast!
