For those of you who bought the physical edition of Overwatch from some stores such as Amazon, you will have gotten a little surprise tonight. It appears that Overwatch is launching a day early on May 23rd and you’ll be receiving your copies on that day.

We have received new release date information related to the order you placed on November 15, 2015. The item(s) listed below will actually ship sooner than we originally expected based on the new release date:

“Overwatch – Collector’s Edition – PC”
Previous estimated arrival date: May 24, 2016
New estimated arrival date: May 23, 2016

However, don’t get too excited about that just yet – it looks to be a way to get the edition in your hands for when the servers launch on May 24th.

So that’s right, even though you’ll be able to get your hands on the physical copies on May 23rd, Blizzard won’t be turning on the live servers until May 24th. It does give you a nice opportunity to get the game set up and ready to go when the live servers do get launched though. I know I’m looking really excited at getting all of the Collector’s Edition stuff a day early to give me something to look over before I start my gaming session the following day!
