The Overwatch beta hype train is in full motion as we approach what many people are referring to as Fall 10th. That is the date the internet has given for the Overwatch beta to begin (which Blizzard has marked as Fall 2015 which falls between anytime from the present until December 20th).

It seems closer to the present though as Blizzard is hosting a livestream this upcoming Thursday at 10 AM Pacific time and you can watch the stream at 2 different community channels from 2 different perspective from Haylinic or Ellohime.

I would like to point out that Blizzard did something similar like this with Hearthstone when it was approaching beta. Instead of using community streams they had community manager Zeriyah live stream some game play. This was done on July 24, 2013 with beta arriving August 16, 2013.

If we were to line this up to a similar schedule, this could mean we could see the beta begin right around the time that BlizzCon starts. With Microsoft being in attendance for BlizzCon by live streaming the opening ceremonies, does this also open up the realm of possibility that we could be seeing Overwatch on consoles as well? It seems to me that everything that is happening this Thursday is leading up to the flood of information we will be learning at BlizzCon.

My prediction is this – we will probably learn about the beta date on Thursday, and don’t be too surprised if it’s another 3-4 weeks away before it begins.
