Lúcio is the name of the newest overwatch character that is being teased. Other then the DJ vibe we get from the teaser, what else can we speculate? Lets take a closer look at the track list released by Blizzard. To translate I used Google translate.

We can guess a little about his back story if we look at the first and the last track.

Track 11 translates to: synaethesia hearing. Being the title track we know it is very important to the artists. Synaethesia is using once sense to interpret another. In this case we can assume it is sight to understand sound. This leads us to believe that the character is most likely deaf, atleast in the traditional sense. He may have been born deaf, or some accident caused him to lose his hearing. Maybe a prosthetic or a mutation has now made him able to see sound and continue his music career. It would also explain why he is so invested in this new technology and spreading it to the world. If he is someone who literally sees sound instead of hears it, that makes him as much a painter as a musician. It also explains why he donated years of his life to the technology to “show” the world his vision.

“I’ve spent two years working on new technology for the show. It’ll bring the music to life. You’re going to do more than just listen to it,” Lúcio said. “You’re going to feel it. See it.”

Track 1 translates to: welcome to society 2.0 (we came to stay). This could mean many things. Since we know he ends up fighting for something, I tend to believe he is fighting for acceptance. 2.0 usually applies to a new version with great improvements. It is easy to see the future society with all its diversity may still not accept everyone who is different. Is there a more noble cause to fight for then acceptance.

With the backstory we can take it that his weapons will be sound and light based. His main weapon will be some kind of device that converts his music to a solid light construct that physically hits the enemy, or sound waves that manipulate individuals. We get a feel for a few abilities from the following tracks.

Track 4 translates to: rejuvenation. This would be a healing ability. Simple elegant and to the point. His music can literally soothe your soul.

Track 5 translates to: something about dreams. Omnicos may be a play on Omni bots so we can translate it to robotic dreams. This suggests a stun ability that will put enemies into a synthetic sleep.

Track 8 translates to: breaking the sound barrier. This to me suggests a speed boost move. It may be usable on self or allies.

These abilities suggest Lúcio is a support character. He would be skilled in distracting enemies, and buffing allies.
